Verna Blanche Payne

Verna Blanche Payne, 76, of Ball Ground, GA passed away on Thursday, May 13th with her family by her side. Verna was a loving and devoted wife and mother of seven children. She loved life and family and had many interests including travel, reading, walking on the beach, Christmas, and above all, her fellow man.

She was beautiful and gentle and she touched the lives of many with her sweetness and her genuine smile and sparkling blue eyes. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and her good nature. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is now at rest after a long and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Verna was preceded in death by her son Michael and is survived by her adoring husband Gerald and her six remaining children, Margie, Kathy, Patricia, Mary, Matthew and John and her eleven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16th at Byars Funeral Home, Cumming, GA from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her funeral will held at Our Lady of the Mountain RC Church, Jasper, GA on Monday, May 17th at 11:00 am followed by her burial at the National Cemetery, Canton, GA at 2:30 in the afternoon.
