Mrs. Gilbretta Skelton McGhee

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Gilbretta Skelton McGhee, age 77 ,of Braselton, formerly of Cleveland. Mrs. McGhee passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 following an extended illness.

Mrs. McGhee was born on July 24, 1932 to the late Claude and Dora Hogan Skelton. She graduated from Truett McConnell College and was employed for a number of years at Nix Ford in Cleveland. She retired from Pioneer Educational Service Agency with 35 years service as Business Manager and Bookkeeper. Mrs. McGhee was a member of Living Word Worship Center in Jefferson and is preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. (Pop) McGhee Sr. and brothers Henry Skelton, J.C. Skelton, Rudolph Skelton and Mark Skelton as well as sisters, Viola Satterfield and Moena Lotheridge

Survivors include her children and spouses, Billy R. ( Ricky) and Mickey McGhee Jr. of Sylvania; Randy and Stephanie McGhee of Buford; Rhonda and Rev. Mark Akin, Braselton; Robbin and Rev. Mark Mobley of Jefferson and Rodney and Lindsay McGhee of Atlanta

Grandchildren and spouses, Matt and Janet McGhee, Michael and Mandy McGhee, Mitchell and Jennifer McGhee, Alex McGhee

Ashley McGhee, Ashley and Brian Anderson, Hayley McGhee, Amanda and Lee Holcomb, Kaylin and Jason Palmer,

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Mark Akin, Rev. Mark Mobley, Rev. Terry Fowler and Rev. Hugh Skelton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM

Flowers will be acknowledged or memorial donations may be made to Living Word Worship Center, Jefferson or New Life Worship Center in Duluth
