Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Willie Louise Allen Sikes, age 80, of Jefferson who passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010. She was born on December 12, 1929 in Jefferson, a daughter to the late Leonard Coyle Allen and the late Lula Isabell Smith Allen. Mrs. Sikes was the owner of the Casual Beauty Shop in Jefferson for over 40 years and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. She was a member and former President of the Optimist Club, a member of J.A.B.A, the Jackson County Food Bank, and the Thursday Night Bridge Club. Mrs. Sikes was also a former President of the Jefferson Little League Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edwards Sikes; son, David Seabolt; and brother, Joseph Henry Allen.
Survivors include children, Lucretia Brumbalow, Commerce, Lane and David Jones, San Marcos, TX, Lee and Sonya Sikes, Jefferson, Nancy Seabolt, Flowery Branch; sister, Ann Prosser, Jefferson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Faye and Gordon Wilson; grandchildren, Sandy Fountain, Ray Streetman, Shannon Seabolt, Chelsea, Kyle and Kaylee Sikes; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Shelton officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, March 17th from 5:00-9:00pm at the funeral home.
