Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Gilmer

Mr. Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Gilmer, 65 of Emory Griffin Road, Gillsville, died Thursday February 18, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.


A life long resident of Hall County, Mr. Gilmer was the son of the late Frank and Eufola Clark Gilmer. He was retired from General Motors and was an avid woodworker. He was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. Mr. Gilmer is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; and two brothers, Stanley Gilmer and Thomas Gilmer.



Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Christie and Matt Lorton, Cumming; Grandsons; Will and Sam Lorton, Cumming; sisters; Laverne McDuffie and Juanita Miller, both of Gillsville; niece, Amy Purgason; nephews; Rodney Brock, Michael Brock and Keith Miller; special friend; Dreana Trent, Loganville; aunts, Kathleen Griffin, Gillsville; Lounelle Bryant, Gainesville and Ophelia Bales, Norcross; a number of great nieces and great nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday February 21, 2010 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marshall Dale will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday February 20, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
