Myrtice Ella Foster

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 2, 2010
Myrtice Ella Foster, 83, of Gainesville died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Dewberry #1 Baptist Church. The Rev. Henry Loggins and Rev. Clarence Drummond will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Myrtice was born in Hall County to Jack and Ella Holland on August 4, 1926. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duwayne Foster and brothers, Ernest Holland, Cecil Holland and Clifford Holland.

Myrtice was a woman of a great love for God, her family and friends. She loved her church family and the choir. She currently taught the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She said you never retire from working for the Lord. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters. She worked at the hosiery mill and Flowers by Opal and JR and currently sold AVON. She never met a stranger and was always ready to witness for the Lord. We have been blessed as a family for her to be our mother, grandmother sister and friend.

She is survived by sons and spouses, Jerry (Jean) Foster of Cleveland, Rev. Robby (Laura) Foster of Flowery Branch and Gary (Tracy) Foster of Ball Ground, daughters and spouses, Brenda (Benny) Brookshire of Suches and Vickie (Wimpy) Reece of Gainesville. Grandchildren, Todd Foster, Chad (Sondra) Foster, Brelan Brookshire, Steven (Stacie) Reece, Stefanie (Ryan) Pitts, Tiffany Foster (fiancé Keith Merck) and Josh Foster, Taylor and Sydney Foster, 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Smith and Eula Savage; brothers, Ray and Roy Holland; sisters in law, Oma Holland and Katherine Holland; brother in law, Del Foster, number of nieces and nephews and special neighbor Nell Haynes.
