William O. Norris, Jr.

Obituary Date: Friday, December 4, 2009
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday December 7, 2009 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for William O. Norris, Jr., 84, Gainesville. Rev. Darryl Womack and Rev. Robert Kersh officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6pm- 8pm Saturday and 2pm- 4pm & 6pm- 8pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Norris was a lifelong resident of Hall County and was the son of the late W.O. & Ethel Roberts Norris. He served in U.S.Army during World War II. Mr. Norris worked a number of years at Ward's Funeral Home before going to work for Sears Department Store from which he retired. He had been a member of the Joy Group for over 20 years and loved volunteering in a music ministry at New Horizons North. He was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. He was a loving Husband, Father , Grandfather and a Friend to those that knew him.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Norris and a sister Willene Majors. Survivors include wife, Avis Bell Norris, Gainesville. Sons & Daughters-in-law, Tony & Nancy Norris, Cornelia, GA. , Todd & Elizabeth Norris, Gainesville. Son, Billy Norris, Gainesville. , Daughters & Sons-in-law, Carol & Larry Crewey, Gainesville. , Connie & Rhett Ouzts, Chattanooga, TN. , 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
