Clara Roper Bryant Chandler

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm , Friday November 27, 2009 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Clara Roper Bryant Chandler, 97, Gainesville. Rev. Earl Pirkle officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery . The Family will receive friends 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chandler was born in Clarkesville, Ga. on April 26, 1912 and was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Sally Franklin Roper. She lived most of her life in Hall Co. and worked a number of years at Dixie City Department Store . She volunteered at Chattahoochee Baptist Association in the furniture ministry until she was 92, and was crowned Miss New Horizons West in 2008 . She was a member of Central Baptist Church since 1952, and taught 6 years old in Sunday School for 40 years.

Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her first husband , Raymond D. Bryant in 1952 and second husband , William H. Chandler in 1977.

Grandchildren, Lynn Suggs, Lula,Ga. , Rob Gittens, Lawrenceville, Ga. , Jennifer Snelling, Eugene, Or. , Wes Bryant, Decatur, Ga. , Jason Shoaf, Gainesville, and Jonathan Shoaf, Lawrenceville, Ga. 10 Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
