Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Harriett Belle Adams Goettman, age 90 of St. Simons. Mrs. Geottmann passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Goettmann was born on July 8, 1919 in White County to Jack Adams and Belle Canup Adams. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. She had lived several years in Kentucky, but spent the last 31 years in St. Simons Island. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lillie Wells, sisters, Frances Chastain and Dora Mae Chastain as well as brothers Sam Adams, Jack Adams and Edwin Hugh Adams
Survivors include her husband, Orville Goettmann, St Simons Island; sons and daughters in law, Billy & Jane Wells, Brunswick; Butler & Brenda Wells of Lincolnton, sister, Mildred Allison of Sautee and brother, Archie Adams of Gainesville. Mrs. Goettmann is also survived by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2009 from the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Nacoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery
