Debra Dru Mitchell Heaton

Debra Dru Mitchell Heaton, age 42, of Dahlonega, GA joined her heavenly family on October 9, 2009.

Debbie was born October 29, 1966 in Warner Robins, GA. She graduated from McEachern High School and Kennesaw State University. She lived in Powder Springs, GA before making Dahlonega her home in 1997.

Debbie was a French and Spanish teacher at Lumpkin County High School for the past thirteen years. Prior to that, she taught at Lockhart Academy in Kennesaw for several years. Some of her favorite memories were of the many trips she took with her students to various countries in Europe. She instilled a love of the French culture not only in her students, but her colleagues as well.

Debbie will be most remembered for her exuberant personality and beautiful smile, her sense of style and fashion, her love of animals, and her amazing generosity.

She is survived by her parents, James (Mitch) and Jonell Mitchell of Powder Springs, GA; her brother, Harold Mitchell of Panama City, Florida and many other close friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Monday October 12, 2009 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Ross officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dahlonega Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 PM until 9 PM.
