Julia Gilmore Minish

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Julia Anne Gilmore Minish, age 85, of the Holly Springs Community, Gillsville, who passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.

Mrs. Minish was born on November 19, 1923 in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Spear and Lula Lipscomb Gilmore. Mrs. Minish was and homemaker and a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Minish was a graduate of Maysville High School, attended North GA College and formerly wrote for the Jackson Herald.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ford Minish.

Survivors include several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2pm in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew McCoy. The body will lie in state Friday at 1:30pm in the Church. The burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Donny Minish, Randy Ragan, John Lipscomb, Jonathan Lipscomb, Calvin Hayes and Billy Minish serving as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
