Ronald Stephen (Ron) Kutay

Ron Kutay, 54 of Gainesville formerly of Warner Robins passed away suddenly on Saturday while cycling in North Georgia.

Ron as born July 18, 1955 in Hershey, PA., the 3rd child of Steve and Ann Kutay. He was an Alter server and started the first folk choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins. He graduated from Mount DeSales High in Macon. He worked in Macon Hospitals as a Respiratory therapist assistant while going to college. He received his BS in Respiratory Therapy from GSU in Atlanta and worked at Northside Hospital for 17 years. Ron went on to Emory University and graduated in 1994 with a PA in anesthesia. He was class Marshall and received the David M Nagle award for Clinical Excellence. He was employed by Gainesville Anesthesia Group for 14 years practicing at NEGMC.

He was surrounded by co workers that shared his drive and compassion for delivering the best healthcare possible under his watch.

Ron was a special man both funny and smart. He loved music and played mandolin in the "Southland" bluegrass band along with his wife and dear friends Bob Cannon and Allan Pitman.

He was an avid competitor and sportsman who enjoyed playing golf, racket ball, water and snow skiing, wake surfing, ping pong and billiards and had recently taken up cycling.

Ron could fix anything and was very involved in building and remodeling his own homes. He loved his family and was excited about becoming "Pops" to his granddaughter due this December.

Ron is survived by his wife of 29 years, Deborah Wheeler Kutay, formerly of Cumming, his daughter, Emily Kutay Gillum and her husband Kyle of Gainesville, mother and father, Steve and Ann Kutay of Warner Robins, sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Roger Wozniak of Warner Robins, Janet and Steve Leverett of Macon, GA, Andrea and Thor Nygaard of Lousiana, Stephanie and John Hall of Centerville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Glenda Kutay of Warner Robins, Tommy and Susan Kutay of Warner Robins, Mark and Stephanie Kutay of Centerville and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Ronnie Green Heart Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday August 12, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. The Rev. David Gravitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday August 11, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
