Dorothy E. Thompson

Dorothy E. Thompson, 86, of Lakemont, GA passed away on Thursday morning July 2, 2009, at her residence.

She was born in Walker County, Georgia and was the daughter of Solon Clyde and Rosamae Oliver Suit. She moved to Clayton, GA from Hialeah, FL in 1984. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a member of Clayton Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Imogene Sanchez and Sadie Mae Peacock and two brothers, Robert Suit and Bascom Suit.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her loving husband of 66 years and partner for 70 years, Maynard Thompson; a daughter, Rosalyn Diane Sullivan of Amissville, VA; one son, James William Thompson of Homosassa, FL; and three grandchildren, Michael James Thompson of Marietta, GA, Heather Lyn Kent of Atlanta, GA, and April Michelle Dobson of Bentonville, VA.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Sunday, July 5, 2009, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park.
