Bob Wilson

Bob Wilson, age 79 of Cornelia, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Born in Habersham County on October 02, 1929, he was the son of the late Lat and Murl Stonecypher Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church and was a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors, antiques and was an avid race fan.


Surviving are wife of 60 years, Doris Ivie Wilson of Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Larry Perry of Sylva, NC and Judy and Jerry Smith of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Mike and Teresa Wilson of Cornelia; son, Larry Wilson of Oakwood; sister, Vera Poole of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Russell Smith of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two nieces also survive.


Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Phillip Yarber and Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Tuesday.
