Carl Henry Rogers

Memorial Park Funeral Home, North Riverside Chapel, Gainesville announces for Doan & Mills Funeral Home of Richmond, Indiana the death of Reverend Carl Henry Rogers, age 86, of Richmond --- formerly of Cumming, Georgia. Reverend Rogers passed away peacefully following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana with Reverend Marty Holman and Reverend Mark Biddy officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, Indiana.


The family will receive friends Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond,Indiana 47375 ... (765-966-0596).


Reverend Rogers touched and changed many lives through his soul-saving outreach ministry. He served as a visitation pastor from 1984-1991 at Victory Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia. From 1991 until recently he served as the visitation pastor with Hillcrest Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana. For the past four years he also served as a hospice chaplain with Reid Memorial Hospital. He was a United States Army veteran.


Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Stanley Rogers; parents, Frank and Elsie Rogers; brother, Lemual Rogers; sister, Marty Rogers; half-brother, Everett Dawson; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Louise and Oscar Lee Meadows.


Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dolores Rogers of Pinellas Park, Florida; grandson and wife, Stanley William "Billy" and Amy Hendrix of Oakwood, Georgia; granddaughter, Emily Susan Meadows of LaPorte, Indiana; special friends, Robert and Pam Edmondson, their children, spouses and grandchildren: Eric and Jennifer Edmondson and Ethan, Mandy and Reverend Mark Biddy and Ashlyn, Jeb and Teeb, all of Dahlonega, Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Thanks are expressed to special people, Allen and Betty Wright and Phil and Janice Beam for their friendship.
