COMMERCE - A Commerce woman died as a result of a four-vehicle crash in Jefferson County Thursday afternoon.

According to Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright, the triple-fatality wreck happened at 2:35 p.m. on Georgia Highway 4 (U.S. Highway 1), one mile north of Campground Road.

Amy Christina Caywood, 35, of Commerce died as a result of the wreck. An obituary for Caywood identifies her as a district manager for CATO Department Stores.

A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Miranda Lynn Ankerich of Hartwell also was involved in the wreck, but she wasn't injured.

Wright said a 2014 GMC TG33 cargo van driven by 44-year-old Wakfwen G. Danpome of Savannah was traveling south on Georgia 4 and traveled into the northbound lane, striking Caywood's 2014 Honda Accord.

Danpome's van then sideswiped Ankerich's 2007 Jeep Wrangler before colliding head-on with a 2004 BMW 645 driven by 49-year-old Elise Michele Cunningham of Louisville.

Caywood, Danpome and Cunningham all died as a result of the wreck.
Funeral services for Caywood will be held Monday. Complete arrangements for her can be found on our obituary page.
