Class AAAAA playoffs: Gainesville girls fall at Tucker

By staff
TUCKER -- The Gainesville girls could not find a way past Tucker in the first round of the Class AAAAA playoffs on Friday, falling 55-49 on the road.

Kabree Randoph and Kaysey Smith each scored nine points to pace the Lady Red Elephants (20-8), while Taylor Hawks added eight points in the defeat.

"I'm so proud of these girls; they fought and battled and showed so much promise this season," said Gainesville coach Brenda Hill-Gilmore, who graduates three seniors from the 2013 Lanierland champions but returns a number of key players next season. "We have a lot of them coming back, and I'm excited about what this team can do."

The Lady Red Elephants' season is now complete.
