Speed said the grant money will be used to purchase in-car video camera systems.

"Banks County Sheriff's Office is thrilled about receiving funding to assist in the purchasing of equipment needed in exceeding with our mission of protecting the highways and the citizens of Banks County," said Speed.

"Our agency is also tremendously enthusiastic about the partnership that has been established with The Governor's Office of Highway Safety. This is a wonderful opportunity for both agencies to be effective in their lifesaving efforts on the highways of Georgia."
