NORCROSS - Gwinnett County firefighters battled an apartment fire that displaced a total of 26 people around noon Wednesday.
The blaze broke out in apartments at 1311 Seasons Parkway in Norcross.
According to firefighters, they attacked the blaze from aerial lines off ladders because of the heat. The roof over several units collapsed into the top floor apartments.
Investigators said apartment management accounted for all residents, including a family dog that was rescued.
Eight units are unliveable because of fire and water damage. No one was hurt.
The apartment management will house the victims in other apartments in the complex. 16 adults and three children are getting help from the American Red Cross.
Investigators were looking for the cause.
