Fugitive turns himself in to Forsyth Co. authorities

CUMMING - A fugitive turned himself in to Forsyth County authorities Thursday afternoon.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Courtney Spriggs said Kennie Askew fled a Milton Police Officer on Tuesday night, and remained on the loose until Capt. Chris Barrett contacted the suspect's parents. She said Askew's parents then called their son and convinced him to make contact with Barrett.

"Capt. Barrett called and talked to Kennie Askew and convinced him to turn himself in at a location in Alpharetta," said Spriggs.

She said that's where the warrant unit picked him up around 2 p.m. Thursday without incident.
