Memorial to President Garfield in historic Cleveland cemetery
CLEVELAND — Today’s excursion away from the Republican National Convention took us back in time. We visited a memorial to President James Garfield in historic Lake View Cemetery, about five miles east of downtown Cleveland.

'You'll shoot your eye out."
CLEVELAND — “You’ll shoot your eye out.” It’s an iconic movie line. Nearly everyone – his mother, his teacher, a department store Santa – tells that to Ralphie when he asks for a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. And not just a BB gun, Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time" (it’s a sundial).

Science Center part of Cleveland's renaissance
CLEVELAND — It’s only appropriate that on the 47th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s “one giant leap for mankind,” I visited the Great Lakes Science Center, home of a lot of NASA memorabilia, including the command module from the first Skylab mission in 1973.

Business not exactly booming for Cleveland businesses
