Be smart -- and clean -- ordering off a menu
As someone who is something of an expert on the subject of eating out, I’m going to offer you some advice today that I hope you’ll consider the next time you’re sitting in a restaurant perusing the menu.

Put down the phone and drive
I have always supported laws banning texting while driving, and I’ve even suggested we ought to ban all things that distract us while we’re driving. After all, our cars are two-ton lethal weapons. I want people paying attention to the road while they are behind the wheel.

The Olympics are a welcome respite from politics
I’ve always been a big fan of the Olympics. Doesn’t matter if it’s the Winter Games or the Summer Games, I find myself glued to the TV watching sports that I only follow every four years.

CLEVELAND — “You’ll shoot your eye out.” It’s an iconic movie line. Nearly everyone – his mother, his teacher, a department store Santa – tells that to Ralphie when he asks for a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. And not just a BB gun, Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time" (it’s a sundial).
