A Clarkesville child was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment of injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle in his family driveway Wednesday night.
The incident happened about 6 p.m. on private property just outside Clarkesville as a 38-year-old Clarkesville man was backing his 2012 Dodge Ram pickup out of the driveway, said Cpl. John Getty of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
“His 3-year-old child unexpectedly ran into the driveway as he was backing up,” Getty said.
The father was unable to stop the truck in time and it struck the child, Getty said.
No charges will be filed, Getty said.
