Toccoa man hurt after running into Big A Road in Toccoa

TOCCOA — A Stephens County man was injured when he was struck by a large SUV as he ran into busy Big A Road in Toccoa on Wednesday afternoon.

Raquon Lewis, 24, of Toccoa “abruptly darted onto the roadway into the path of the Tahoe and was struck,” said Cpl. John Getty of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

The northbound 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was driven by Destiny House, 20, of Gainesville, who was not hurt.

Lewis was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

“Multiple witnesses stated that the pedestrian was arguing with others in the adjacent parking lot before running onto the roadway,” Getty said.

The wreck happened about 3:45 p.m.
