Girls basketball roundup: EHall, Branch, Buford, Hab Central win; Dawson Co. falls again in 7-3A

FLOWERY BRANCH — Flowery Branch snapped a two-game losing streak in taking a 48-33, non-region win over North Hall on Saturday at the Flowery Branch gym.

The Lady Falcons (6-10) held North Hall to its second-lowest offensive output on the season. Flowery Branch opened the game with a 12-5 first-quarter run and pushed its lead to 28-18 by halftime.

The Lady Falcons blew the game open with a 15-5 third quarter for a 41-23 lead.

Shaina Kriews paced Flowery Branch with 19 points. Ashlee Locke added 16 for the Lady Falcons.

North  Hall (6-11) was led by Rylee McCall with 18 points.

Flowery Branch next will play host to Chestatee on Tuesday in a big Region 8-4A battle for both teams.

North Hall is off until next Friday when the Lady Trojans will play host to White County in an important Region 7-3A showdown.


EAST HALL 75,
WALNUT GROVE 47

Callie Dale poured in 26 points and Alexis Burce 21 to lead the Lady Vikings to a non-region win in Valhalla.

Carly Campbell added 13 points and Maleah Harrison had 12 points for East Hall.

The Lady Vikings (11-4) next will play host to No. 7 Cedar Shoals in Rabbittown on Tuesday in a key Region 8-4A matchup.


GILMER 49,
DAWSON COUNTY 48

The Dawson County girls dropped their third straight Region 7-3A contest on Saturday at home.

The Lady Tigers fell to Gilmer despite a big halftime lead. Dawson County led 29-12 at the break but was outscored 37-19 in the second half.

Madison Anglin had another big outing for Dawson County. She poured in 20 points to go with 3 rebounds one night after scoring 26 in a loss to White County. 

Ella Siuta added 9 points and 5 rebounds and Emma Walls 8 points for the Lady Tigers  (7-7, 1-5 Region 7-3A).

Dawson County will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Lumpkin County in another key Region 7-3A battle.


HABERSHAM CENTRAL 83,
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 47

Lakeview Academy dropped a non-region game on the road on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders jumped on the Lady Lions early running out to a 41-20 halftime lead and then extended their lead in the second half.

Lakeview was led by Joelle Snyder with 28 points. Ashlyn Henderson added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the Lady Lions.

The Lakeview Academy girls will take on Banks County on Monday at Athens Academy as part of the MLK Showcase.


BUFORD 68,
JEFFERSON 45

Asyhia Willis scored 19 points and Ava Grace Watson had 16 to lead the Class 6A fourth-ranked Lady Wolves (12-0) past Class 4A No. 1 Jefferson on Saturday at Buford City Arena.

Livi Blackstock led the Lady Dragons (12-3) with 10 points.
