UPDATE: Soccer: Lady Falcons open with shutout win; Johnson boys beat Eastside; LWE draw

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch girls opened their 2019 season with an impressive 5-0 shutout win over rival Gainesville Friday night at Falcons Field.

Maggie Wadsworth bagged a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Lady Falcons (1-0) offense. Mollie Langner and Larsyn Reid each scored one goal. Mckenzie Kent and Reid also tallied an assist for Flowery Branch.

The Lady Falcons will play host to Class 7A North Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Gainesville (0-1) will play host to Oconee County on Tuesday.

EASTSIDE 2

 

The Knights (2-0) got goals from four different players in holding off a Eastside squad at The Dungeon Friday night.

Junior Arellano, Jose Gomez, on an assisted by Junior Arellano, Jonathan Miralrio assisted by Rudy Orosco, and Edgar Lopez all registered a goal.

Meanwhile, senior keeper Cooper Bowen had 4 saves in goal for Johnson.

Johnson next will play host to Central-Carollton on Tuesday.

APALACHEE 5

 

 Kyleigh Drew registered a program-rcord five goals Friday night for the Lady War Eagles in a their season-opener on the road.

 

Vanessa Comanche, Perla Hernadez and Elizabeth Leon each tallied assists for Chestatee (0-0-1)
 
Chestatee will hit the road again on Tuesday traveling to Creekview.
