OAKWOOD — Danny Garcia hit a running jumper with 5 seconds left to left Johnson to a thrilling 51-50 victory over rival West Hall Saturday night at the Johnson gym.
The Knights led 36-29 entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Spartans outscoed Johnson 21-13 to take a 50-49 lead with 15.3 seconds left in the game.
Noah Edmondson led the Spartans with 21 points and Sawyer Passmore added 13 points.
Jesse Harbins paced Johnson with 18 points and Wade Pearce added 17.
With the win Johnson (8-13) snapped a three-game losing streak and swept the season series. West Hall (6-14) had its two-game win streak snapped with th loss.
