A Barrow County man, already facing charges in a Friday night crash in Dacula, has now been charged with vehicular homicide following the death of a passenger in his vehicle.

The Gwinnett County Police Department said Michael Hall, 40, of Bethlehem was driving under the influence when the crash happened on State Route (SR) 316.

Investigators said Hall was traveling westbound on SR 316 around 10:30 p.m. when he rear-ended a vehicle that was slowing for traffic at Hurricane Trail.

When Hall hit the Rav4, he pushed it into the intersection about 200 feet, according to investigators. The driver of the Rav4 and one of her passengers were injured and taken to the hospital; her other passenger was not hurt.

However, police said the injuries to Hall's his front-seat passenger, identified as Alishia Williamson of Bethlehem, were more serious.

Williamson, 37, was hospitalized with critical injuries following the crash and died Monday, Jan. 14.

Hall was arrested after he was released from the hospital, according to police. Initially, he was charged with DUI, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving and following too closely.  Police said the charge of homicide by vehicle was added after Williamson died.
