Gainesville Parks officials set public meeting as they begin work on master plan

By AccessWDUN Staff

The city of Gainesville's park system is poised for major renovation in the future, and parks officials this month will begin gathering public input on a new master plan.

Gainesville Parks and Recreation has scheduled a public meeting for Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Gainesville Civic Center to start the process.

"The Gainesville 2030 Parks, Greenways and Open Space Master Plan will be a vital tool as we move forward. Community input is our number one priority,” said Melvin Cooper, Director of Gainesville Parks and Recreation. “We encourage anyone who lives or works in Gainesville and wants continued improvement to our parks and facilities to join us and let their voice be heard.”

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
