Fourth suspect arrested in Lula home invasion case

GAINESVILLE – The final suspect in a January home invasion in Lula has been taken into custody.

According to Hall County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware on September 21deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office took custody of James Henry Kelley IV, 38, in Snow Hill, North Carolina.

Kelley was booked in at the Hall County Jail on September 21 and charged with aggravated assault, home invasion, kidnapping and armed robbery. He is scheduled for a committal hearing on October 8th.  No bond has been set for Kelley.

The original incident happened on January 22, 2018, when Kelley and Christopher Blaine Ward unlawfully entered a home located in the 5900 block of Chattahoochee Street in Lula.  Both men were armed with handguns.

One of the three victims was struck in the head with a handgun during the robbery as Kelley and Ward took approximately $100,000 in cash from a safe in the residence.

Since the robbery Ware says investigators arrested three of the four suspects in early August.

Taken into custody August 8th were Amanda Ashley Tyson, 33 and James Glenn Tyson, 36, both of Lula. The couple was charged with conspiracy to commit home invasion and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Then on August 10th investigators arrested Christopher Blaine Ward, 30, of Atlanta. He was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and home invasion.

Those three remain in the Hall County Jail without bond.
