Assisted living community, agri-entertainment venue planned in North Hall

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

An assisted living community for "special needs adults" and an agri-entertainment venue are planned for North Hall and each will go before the Hall County Planning Commission Oct. 1.

Adventures in Missions is applying for a zoning change for 12.3 acres at 5552 Bogus Road where it plans a residential complex for adults with "Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)," according to documents filed with Hall County officials.

The plans call for family-style homes, housing "about 12 people each with a set of house parents."  The complex would consist of four residences totaling 56,000 square feet.

The agri-entertainment facility is proposed for 34.6 acres at 5417 Price Road.

Kristen Tracy is seeking a "permissive use" from the county for a facility that would host "weddings, receptions, small group day retreats (such as office groups), and similar agri-entertainment events."

Initially, tents and other temporary structures would be used house events on the site.  However, "if there is sufficient demand for the venue to justify the required expenditure for a permanent covered space, the owners may construct covered facilities on the site," according to the application on file with the county.
