Volleyball: East Hall takes out Stephens, White in matches

TOCCOA — The East Hall volleyball team improved to 12-2 on the season by defeating Stephens County and White County on Thursday in Toccoa.

The Lady Vikings defeated host Stephens County (22-25, 25-17, 25-20) to open the night and then defeated White County in two sets (25-22, 28-26).

Savannah Thellman helped lead East Hall with 11 points scored on serve with 5 aces, 6 kills, 4 digs and 46 assists, while Tessa Rider scored 6 points on serve with 2 aces, 32 kills, 3 assists, 1 block and 32 digs. Yamilet Anariba had 1 kill and 5 digs, and Ivey Shadburn scored 9 points on serve with 2 aces, 1 kill and 8 digs. Janelly Lara scored 14 points on serve with 5 aces, 11 kills, 2 assists and 30 digs, and Alysia Teague scored 24 points on serve with 6 aces, 2 assists and 50 digs. Nehemiah Jinks had 18 kills, 2 digs and 7 blocks, and Katie Baugh added 1 block and 4 digs on the night.

The Lady Vikings play next at Tuesday against Gilmer and Habersham Central with play beginning at 5 p.m. in Valhalla.
