UPDATE: SWAT situation in South Forsyth ends

A SWAT situation in a South Forsyth neighborhood ended around 4 p.m., although full details have not yet been released by authorities.

Original story-11:40 a.m.:

At last report, deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office remained in a SWAT situation at a townhome on the south end of the county.

Deputies were called to the home in the Whittington Townhome Community around 9 a.m. Tuesday when a man claimed he was being held inside the home against his will, said Cpl. Doug Rainwater, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office public information officer.

"We established communications with him through the 911 call, and he was refusing to come out, even though he did say he could, on his own," said Rainwater.

"During the conversation, it was learned that he may have weapons inside his townhome."

It wasn't clear whether or not the man was alone inside the home, so the negotiations have been very deliberate, said Rainwater.

Access to the neighborhood is restricted, and the general public is advised to stay away, as a precaution.

As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, no injuries had been reported.
