UPDATE: Gainesville officers arrest woman for motel room stabbing

A Gainesville woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend at a local motel. 

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook with the Gainesville Police Department said Takesha Davis, 34, was arrested Saturday night after Charles Cumming, 51, was stabbed in the chest.

Cumming was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center following the incident. He was reported in critical condition at the time.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the Hometown Studio Suites at 1115 Jesse Jewell Parkway, according to Holbrook.

Holbrook said the incident was related to a domestic argument.

An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed at a Gainesville motel over the weekend.

The man suffered a stab wound to the chest and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition, according to Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook.
 
The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. Saturday at the Hometown Studio Suites on Jesse Jewell Parkway.
 
Holbrook did not release the victim's name. He did not provide details on a suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.
