Female airlifted for treatment after fall from top of Minnehaha Falls

A female victim was injured when she fell from Minnehaha Falls in Rabun County Sunday afternoon.

“The initial call was dispatched around 12:50 for a female that had fallen from the top of the falls and was injured,” said Rabun County Assistant Fire Chief Justin Upchurch.

Rabun County Emergency Services, Rabun County Fire Services Station 10, and Rabun Search And Rescue (SAR) were dispatched.

“She fell approximately 30 feet,” Upchurch said.

The patient was removed from the area to a landing zone in the Flat Creek community, where the Blairsville-based AirLife Georgia 14 medical helicopter assumed care and transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Upchurch.

No further details of the incident were available Sunday.
