Suwanee mulls more mixed-use development south of Town Center

Suwanee City Council is considering a project that would bring another mixed-use development to the land surrounding Suwanee Town Center — the third such plan that has been approved in recent years.

Terwilliger Pappas, the same company behind the "Solis Project" that's bringing a 240-unit mixed-use apartment development and parking structure adjacent to Chicago Street and Buford Highway, is looking to create another live-work-play development along Buford Highway, between Russell Street and Chicago Street.

Construction on the first project started in 2017.

The second development, if approved, would bring 230 luxury apartment units and 10,500 square feet of commercial "flex space," which could be used for a variety of establishments, like office, retail or restaurant space.

While that development is happening south of Town Center Park, the city also continues to plan its Town Center West expansion, a project announced in September 2016.

The expansion would happen on the DeLay Property, which sits behind the Suwanee Library.

The third expansion faces final approval from city council at its meeting on July 24.
