The woman who was murdered, allegedly by a man she met at the Rainbow Family Gathering in Lumpkin County, has been identified.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported Thursday that 18-year-old  Amber Robinson of Florida was identified by use of dental records.

She is said to have met Joseph Bryan Capstraw, 20, at the event in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest and then hitchhiked to Elizabethtown, Kentucky were she was beaten to death.

Elizabethtown Police Department investigators said Capstraw claims to have blacked out and when he awoke, Robinson was dead and he had injuries to his hands.

The Associated Press reported Friday morning that police spokesman John Thomas called Robinson's homicide "the most brutal'' he'd seen, and said she couldn't be identified based on photographic evidence alone.

Both Robinson and Capstraw were from Florida, where Robinson was in the foster care system and Capstraw was homeless in Jacksonville Beach.

Capstraw is being held on $1 million bond after being indicted for murder Thursday.

The gathering of the Rainbow Family of Living Light drew thousands of visitors to Lumpkin County the week of July 4.
