Gainesville man arrested for June drive-by shooting, fleeing deputies

A Gainesville man remained in custody Tuesday afternoon in connection to a June 30 drive-by shooting on Stallworth Street in Hall County.

Jeffery Scott Moss, 27, was arrested at a hotel in DeKalb County on July 9, said Derreck Booth, Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

On June 30, Moss allegedly fired gunshots into a home around 11:20 a.m., though nobody was injured. Witnesses were able to give law enforcement a description of Moss's car, which officers spotted on Dean Street.

When law enforcement pulled him over, Moss ran from the scene. Investigators found a handgun inside.

Law enforcement launched a search of the area, though Moss was able to escape the area.

Moss is charged with first-degree criminal damage of property and aggravated assault, and as of Tuesday morning, he remained in jail without bond.
