Hall County Health Department urges early back-to-school vaccines

Even though schools in Gainesville and Hall County won't open for more than a month, the Hall County Health Department is reminding parents that now is a good time to get required school vaccinations for students. 

"Kids need pencils, paper and other supplies for school. Just as important, kids need to be up-to-date on their shots," said Dave Palmer, Public Information Officer for District 2 Public Health. "Children entering kindergarten, middle school and high school are required to have certain vaccinations."

The Hall County Health Department will be giving school immunizations on these dates:

July 5 – 27: Normal Operating Hours*

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday:            8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Tuesday:                                                        8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Friday:                                                            8:00 am to 2:00 pm

(Closed for lunch each day from Noon to 1:00 pm)

July 30 – August 6: Special Clinic Hours*

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday:            8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Tuesday:                                                        8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Friday:                                                            8:00 am to 2:00 pm

(Open through lunch each day for shots)

Officials said cut-off times for the clinic may vary depending on patient volume. More information is available at 770-531-5600.
