North Georgia has a full calendar for Independence Day 2018

As we approach the 242nd anniversary of our nation's independence, North Georgians have planned a full calendar or events to celebrate the red, white and blue.
 
You'll find a list of public activities — from fireworks to parades — listed below. If you'd like to submit an event, email [email protected]. Be sure to include date, time, location and any pertinent details for your listing.
 
Friday, July 6
 
Lake Burton Fireworks
Lake Burton (near south end of Billy Goat Island)
9:30 p.m.
Ride out on Lake Burton for boat-accessible fireworks.
 
Saturday, July 7
 
Fireworks at Sterling on the Lake
Sterling on the Lake (Flowery Branch)
5 p.m.
The fun festivities begin at 5 p.m. and you can enjoy much more than just fireworks, including face painting, bouncy houses, balloon art, bubbles, DJ music and food! $5 parking for non-residents of Sterling on the Lake.
 
Charlotte Knights @ Gwinnett Stripers
Coolray Field (Lawrenceville)
6:05 p.m.
Watch the Stripers play host to the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.  Fireworks will follow the game. Tickets can be bought on the Stripers' website.
