Gainesville gun maker feels targeted by financial institutions

A Gainesville firearms manufacturer feels his business - and the industry as a whole - is being targeted by the banks with a political agenda.

Honor Defense President Gary Ramey said that recently two credit card processing services have cut him off due to bank-imposed regulations.

"Small companies require financial service companies to help them," Ramey said. "Those are the ones that are being dictated to not deal with our industry."

The two companies that have stopped servicing Honor Defense are Stripe and Quickbooks, according to Ramey.

Ramey said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp are taking up the torch to redefine a law that would prohibit such restrictions on the firearms industry. Both men are currently GOP candidates for governor and are open supporters of Second Amendment rights.
