Jackson County jailer fired for alleged assault

A Jackson County jailer is out of a job and facing criminal charges for an alleged assault in Madison County.

Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum confirmed Monday to AccessWDUN Cpl. Todd Greene was terminated after he was charged in an alleged scuffle on Thursday. Greene was apparently working with the victim in the incident when the two began to argue. Green tried to handcuff the man, twisting the man's arm and hand in the process.

It is unclear what the confrontation was about. Greene was arrested by Jackson County deputies and Commerce Police Officers.

Mangum said Green had worked for the Jackson County Sheriff's Office as a jailer since July 2017.
