AAA: Georgia gas prices seeing a decline

Georgia motorists are seeing a decline in prices at the pump, averaging $2.75.

Gas prices sunk four cents last week. The national average is $2.90.  Since peaking at $2.84 on Memorial Day weekend, gasoline has declined nearly 10 cents.

"Pump prices should sink even lower this week, after wholesale gasoline prices took a dive," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA. "There is now firm downward pressure on the oil market as it appears increasingly likely that OPEC will agree to ease production cuts. As a result, gas prices are poised for another 5-10 cent drop."

In Hall County, the AAA price map indicates the average gas price is $2.73. The most expensive prices were in Atlanta, at $2.80, Athens, at  $2.78, and Savannah, at $2.75. The lowest price was spotted in Warner Robbins and Augusta-Aiken at $2.63.
