Roundabout planned for Lumpkin County intersection

A modern roundabout will replace the existing Y-shaped intersection at State Route 9 and State Route 60 in Lumpkin County.
 
Georgia DOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland says the new roundabout will be built around the existing Trahlyta's Grave stonepile and the historical marker will be stored during construction.
 
The state awarded C. W. Matthews Contracting with the $4.7 million dollar contract.
