Puckett takes Limited Late Model win at Winder-Barrow

Chad Puckett led wire-to-wire in Saturday night’s Limited Late Model feature to score the win at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway.

In fact, Puckett was rarely challenged during the feature race around the ¼-mile clay raceway en route to the victory.

Puckett jumped to the early lead over John Anderson on the drop of the green flag. Meanwhile, Dustin Cason charged past Scott Frady and Anderson to move to second place before the end of the first lap.

The first caution of the race flew on the second lap, when Frady and Anderson made contact as they raced off turn two, gathering up Chris Woods in the process.

Everyone was able to continue, but they would tangle again a few laps later. As Woods and Anderson battled for third place Anderson slipped in turn two, gathering up Frady to bring out the second caution of the night.

Back under green, Puckett again jumped to the lead, and had pulled out to a healthy advantage when second place Cason slowed suddenly in turn three and rolled to a stop on the frontstretch to draw the caution.

Puckett again moved to the lead on the restart, with Woods giving chase. A few laps later, Woods slowed suddenly off turn two, bringing out the final caution of the night. Woods was able to refire and continue.

From there, Puckett drove away to the victory, with Anderson finishing in second, Frady in third, Woods in fourth and Shane Cox in fifth.

In other action, Ronnie Poole held off Mark Chancey to score the win in the Stock V8 feature. Jr. Carter finished in third, with Trip Sexton in fourth and Russell Page in fifth.

Shane Peppers took the victory in the Modified Street feature, with Jordan Poole in second.

Jerome Hanson edged out Andy Barton to take home top honors in the Hobby feature.

Justin Taylor picked up the victory in the Stock 4A feature, with Allen Cantrell, Scotty Cox, David Nash and Kyle Braswell rounding out the top five.

Cody Peppers was the winner in the Stock 4B feature, followed by Cody Albright in second, Adam Jones in third, Franklin Sargent in fourth and David Ivester in fifth.
