False accusations land a Forsyth mother behind bars

Deputies arrest a Forsyth County mother and charge her with making false child molestation accusations against her child's father.

Forsyth Sheriff's Corporal Doug Rainwater says 43 year old Tamara Michelle Abernathy coached her 4 year old child to make false statements to deputies repeatedly for some time.

Rainwater says after forensic interviews with the child led to a confession of being coached on what to say, deputies arrested Abernathy on May 31st. She was released a short time later after posting a $29,500 bond.

She faces charges of cruelty to children, interference with custody, making false reports of a crime, and false statements or concealing evidence.
