AAA to offer Tow to Go over Memorial Day weekend

By Scott Kimbler and Alyson Shields

AAA is once again offering Tow-to-Go service for drivers who may have a few too many drinks over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

"With so many vehicles on the road during the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, combined with alcohol consumption, this has proven to be a deadly mix," said agency spokesman John Pecchio. He said offering a service like Tow-to-Go is essential, alongside drivers choosing a designated driver, staying where they are celebrating, or arranging for another form of safe transportation.

Pecchio said if you still need a ride and your car towed home, they will tow you and one additional passenger free of charge within a ten mile radius, no questions asked. The service is available to both members and non-members of AAA.

Tow to Go is available starting Friday, May 25, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 and is available by calling (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or 855-286-9246.

Tow to Go, now in its 20th year, has safely removed more than 25,000 impaired drivers from roads across the Southeast and the Midwest since 1998. Tow to Go is designed to prevent impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel and risking the lives of other motorists by providing them a free, confidential ride home or somewhere safe within 10-miles. The service may not be available in rural areas or sever weather conditions
