Barrow Co. investigators continue to search for suspects in missing man's death

By B.J. Williams

A week ago investigators found human remains on the Barrow County property where Brent Michael Huff and his wife Jennifer lived. At last report, the pair remained on the run in connection to the death of the victim.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith confirmed Wednesday to AccessWDUN that the Huffs are considered "good suspects" in the death of 31-year-old Montez Watson. Watson disappeared in February and the GBI last week identified the remains found on the Fleeman Road property as Watson's.

"We are not releasing the manner of death due to the ongoing investigation," Sheriff Smith wrote in an email.

According to reports on WSB-TV in Atlanta, the Huffs rented a mobile home on the Fleeman Road property. They were at home when investigators began searching last Wednesday, May 2, but they left the scene at some point during the search. The TV station reported a tip had led law enforcement to the property.

Fox 5 in Atlanta reported Watson's remains were discovered in a makeshift grave on the property.

Brent Michael Huff is a white male, 5'10", 150 lbs. with brown hair and green eyes, according to a description from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. Jennifer Huff is a white female, 5'1", 150 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the Huffs is asked to contact Investigator Chandler at 770-307-3080, ext. 3977 or [email protected]

The Walton County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the investigation.
