Dahlonega woman charged with DUI for crash that killed passenger

A Dahlonega woman is facing charges for a single-vehicle wreck Sunday morning in Lumpkin County that killed her passenger.

Lindsey C. Le Barron, 22, was headed north on Hightower Church Road when she struck a utility pole south of Miles Berry Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Her passenger, Jason M. Caldwell, 40, of Dahlonega, was killed in the accident, which happened around 6:11 a.m.

Le Barron apparently continued driving for another 0.4 miles, troopers said, before coming to a stop.

She's been charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and a seat belt violation, troopers said in an email to AccessWDUN.

Le Barron was not injured.
