Soccer: Chestatee girls win; Vikings draw; Lady Lions fall (Friday results included)

GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee girls soccer team ended the regular season with a 2-0 victory over Class 6A Creekview on Friday in Gainesville.

Kyleigh Drew scored both goals for the Lady War Eagles (7-7-2) with the help of an assist from Genesis Reyes on the first goal. 

Chestatee travels to face St. Pius on Wednesday in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs in Atlanta.


EAST HALL BOYS 2,
NORTHWEST WHITFIELD 2

The Class 3A fourth-ranked Vikings (12-2-3) earned the draw on Friday in Rabbittown.

Sergio Turcios and Jairo Rendon each scored for East Hall, while Rendon Brian Holcomb providing assists.

Oscar Rosas produced 11 saves and Daniel Carillo had 8 saves in goal on the night.

The Vikings will play host to Franklin County in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs at 7 p.m. April 27.


WESLEYAN GIRLS 3,
LAKEVIEW 1

Meredith Tucker scored the lone goal for the Lady Lions in the loss on Friday in Gainesville.  

Lakeview will travel to play Darlington School in Rome on Thursday in the first round of the Class A state playoffs.


NORTHWEST WHITFIELD GIRLS 11,
EAST HALL 1

The Lady Vikings ended their season with the loss on Friday at home.

Chela Aviles had 11 saves and Jessica Soto had 8 saves in goal on the night.

 


FRIDAY'S RESULTS

JOHNSON BOYS 6,
LOGANVILLE 1 

Jairo Rios, Junior Arellano, Michael Arcia, Marco Vazquez and Rigo Campa each scored goals for the Knights on Thursday, as they closed out the regular season in style in Oakwood.

Campa also provided an assist in the win, as did Arcia and Cole Bowen,

Jonathan Miralrio also forced an own-goal from a Loganville defender with a dangerous cross into the box 

Cooper Bowen and Isias Castaneda split the win in goal. 

The Knights play again in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs at 6:30 pm Wednesday against Kell in Oakwood.


FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 10,
EAST JACKSON 0

The No. 2-ranked Lady Falcons (18-0) finished the regular season undefeated on Friday.

Caroline Wysocki scored three goals to lead the Branch, while Larsyn Reid and McKenzie Kent each scoted twice in the win.

Megan Shadbolt, Chavez and Izzy Salgado each scored once.

The Lady Falcons play host to Kell at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
