SUGAR HILL — Collier Scott tossed a no-hitter to lead Gainesville to an 11-0, five-inning win over Lanier Monday night in Region 8-6A action.

The win pulled the Red Elephants (14-6, 5-2 Region 8-6A) into a first-place tie with the Longhorns (14-8, 5-2). Gainesville pushed its win streak to five straight while it snapped Lanier's five-game win streak.

The Red Elephants opened the game with a pair of runs in the first inning and quickly blew the game open with five runs in the second. They added a run in the third and three more in the fifth to put the Mercy Rule into effect.

Jared Smith and Jackson Kemp each had two hits and three RBI to pace the Gainesville offense. Banks Griffith had a hit and two RBI and Cale Conley, Dalton Kyle, and Cameron Wilson each had one hit for the Red Elephants.

The Dragons scored four runs in the fourth on a hit, a groundout, a stolen base, and a wild pitch. They added three in the fifth on Jones's blast.
